I hope you will remember these pages from our story, once they were written down, we were not the same. You and I under the palm trees, the crashing waves and a salty breeze, the line where the sky and the ocean meet, we were not the same.
And I see you for the first time in several years. Did I tell you? I love you, Cathy.
And I hold you, and I hope it goes on and on like the horizon does.
Every mistake, every masterpiece, every thread in this tapestry, a toe in the sand, a splash in the sea, we were not the same. Bring to the table anything you wish, life is a 100 year picnic, once we began to live that way, we were not the same.
And I hear you for the first time in several years. Did I tell you? I love you, Cathy. And I hold you and I hope it goes on and on like the horizon does.
Years from now, our legacy: Our children’s children and the songs they sing, like the one that goes like this, we were not the same.
